Bruin Builders is an after-school STEM group at Bradshaw Mountain Middle School. We focus on engineering projects. During first semester, we designed and built a Pumpkin Chunkin machine which was entered in the Mortimer Farms annual contest. We were the youngest team to complete. Despite our age, our machine took third in accuracy.
The students in 5th-8th grades in Model Creek School, Yarnell Elementary School will showcase their European Siren/Lights learning to solder project. There will be a tri-fold presentation board showing photographs from the students’ semester’s work, along with the projects that are completed and incomplete. Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) is a low-cost program designed to encourage college readiness and exploration of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields for low-income, minority or first-generation college bound students in grades 6-8.
